Planning Permission
Planning Permission is required in order to be allowed to build, extend or change the use of land or buildings. Planning permission can be one of the biggest hurdles in the whole process of extending your home and, depending on your ideas and plans can either be very simple, or very difficult. sAs Architectural Design Services can provide initial advice as to the potential issues which the Local Authority might have with your plans and advise you on the best way forward.
Once your planning application has been submitted with the Local Authority it can take between 8 and 12 weeks to get a decision depending on the scale of the works proposed.
Many planning applications are decided by the Planning Officer after consultation with neighbours and relevant consultees like the Highways department.
Assuming Planning Permission is granted, the next stage is to apply for Building Regulations approval.
